Battery technology will be the keystone of the energy transition and Europe is playing a strategic industrial role as it is forecasted to become the second largest battery cell producer in the world.

Thinking long-term of the future of the Battery Industry, Ingecal has developed a 1,5M€ Advanced battery testing facility containing:

  • a 70m2 dry room with an ultra-low dewpoint of -40°C / ISO 8 Class
  • a 220 tones super compact calendaring machine with gap accuracy up to ±0,5µm and speed up to 100m/min
  • an IN-CORE vision inspection and digitalization solution for electrode quality control, unique 2D code marking, code reading and real-time data broadcast to MES

The Advanced battery testing facility, with real-production environment, will give access to battery producers for testing, evaluating new battery chemistries, prototype qualification and process characterization. Customers can carry out several tests in the additional 200 m2 clean room equipped with powder mill, laminator, extruder, unwinding/rewinding units and various metrology devices.

Based on our expertise, the technical team can assist customers by providing the adequate manufacturing solution for their specific needs, products and production context.  The Advanced battery testing facility available on September 28th 2021 will contribute to develop the current and future batteries and will boost the EU Battery industry to high competitiveness and innovation.

Aiming to reinforce the collaboration in the Battery Industry Ingecal, together with Dürr Megtec and IN-CORE Systèmes, have built a strategic alliance to increase the involvement to build the European Battery Industry
